Benchmark Quote

What is a Benchmark Quote? 

Benchmark Quote is a unique service designed to help streamline the time-consuming and frustrating process of collecting multiple bids from general contractors. Our pricing platform ensures that each bid is not only detailed but also directly comparable — so you can hire your contractor with confidence. 

How do I get a Benchmark Quote? 

Use the Request a Quote tool on our website to get started. A project consultant will reach out quickly to review your project details, answer any questions, and help submit your project to our estimation team. 

Is this service for architects or homeowners? 

We work with architects and homeowners — independently and together. Some architects leverage our services as an extension of their business; others prefer to refer their clients to us directly when their design services have been completed. 

If you’re a homeowner with plans, we’re happy to work with you directly. Or, if you need design assistance we can connect you directly with an architect to help conceptualize your vision — and get a Benchmark price.

What information does need to build a Benchmark Quote? 

The more information you can provide, the more accurate your pricing will be. Your project consultant will request any project documentation you have — approved plans, schematic designs, or photos. 

For projects that are still early in the schematic design phase, we provide budgetary Benchmark pricing to give clients an idea of how much their project will cost before they fully invest in the project. For projects with construction-ready plans, we create a full Benchmark Quote — this includes a Benchmark price range and multiple GC estimates.

How much does a Benchmark Quote cost? 

Benchmarking services start at $250 and go up depending on the complexity of your design and the number of GC bids you’d like to receive pricing from. This is a one-time fee paid at the time of your request; we do not offer a subscription service at this time. 

How do you vet your contractors? 

We have a network of trusted general contractors in the cities we offer Benchmark Quote in. To be part of our network, general contractors must have an active license, bonding, and general liability insurance (at a minimum). We also review their history of work, project photos, and client reviews. 

The GCs we work with again and again are great communicators, responsive to questions, and share the same qualities our clients look for. You can also request that a GC of your choice be part of the benchmark process.

Is your Benchmark pricing tailored to construction costs in my city?

Yes. Benchmark pricing is based on local market data for subcontractor labor and materials. We also make some assumptions regarding labor costs and the amount of overhead, profit, and project management fees that often vary between each contractor. If our Benchmark price is higher or lower than the estimates we receive, we’ll make that clear.

In addition to our estimation services, we also operate as a licensed general contractor out of Seattle, Denver, and the Bay Area. Our construction teams build custom homes, additions and ADUs, complex remodels, and more. Our goal is to help our clients build high-quality projects while making the full design, permit, and construction process easier. As a full-service GC, we work with our clients from the initial dreaming and planning phases all the way through construction.

How do I schedule an appointment?

Request a free quote on our website or call us at 800-597-4776 to get started. We’ll call you as soon as possible to make sure we have enough detail about your project, and then get an appointment scheduled for you.

Are you licensed?

We are a licensed general contractor in the states of Washington (license #PROCOCH814MT), California (license #1014714), and Colorado (license #LIC00247414).

Do you carry general liability insurance?

Yes, we carry general liability insurance in every state where we are licensed.

Do you carry worker’s compensation insurance?

Yes, we carry worker’s compensation insurance in every state where we are licensed. Please ask your project consultant if you'd like more information.

On most projects, we use a combination of on-staff specialists and trusted subcontractors. Everyone we work with is held to a high standard of professionalism and workmanship.

Do you warranty your work?

Every project comes with a 12-month warranty. We stand by the quality of our work and will address any workmanship issue that comes up within 12 months of your project’s completion date.

What payment methods do you accept?

You can pay online via direct bank transfer or credit card, or you can send us a check.

How do I pay online?

If you choose to pay online, we recommend paying directly via your bank account. After verifying your bank account details, you can set up one-time ACH payments with no fees. If you prefer to pay with your credit card, note that we charge an additional 2.9% to cover the transaction fees required by the bank.
